Synopsis
Friends on the Outside tells the story of an incarcerated man called Jamie who finds joy and comfort inside by foraging for weeds and caring for birds. It questions why the UK prison system is currently in its biggest expansion in more than a century, exposing naturalising language around this expansion.

Annabel MoodieAnnabel is an Edinburgh-based film and moving image maker with a love of analog and DIY processes and the magic of the natural world. She has an MA in ethnographic and documentary filmmaking. She has worked as a freelance researcher, editor, and videographer. She made her most recent short film as part of the Bridging the Gap scheme by the Scottish Documentary Institute.
