Special Mention of the Canadian Grand Prize

The housing crisis had many faces. Those of Jeannette and Frances drive us into the difficult experience of eviction. During many months of anxiety, brief hopes and uprooting, Jeannette and Frances fight, alone and surrounded, against a growing phenomenon: the forced loss of one’s home.

    Emmanuel has directed in 2022 his first fiction short, Cendres, which has been presented at several festivals. In the last year, he has also directed the second season of the web series Moi, j’habite nulle part, which was nominated for three awards at the Gémeaux Awards 2023. Juste un toit is his first documentary short.
