Synopsis

My grandmother was a T'ung-yang-hsi, who was sold to another family to be raised as a future daughter-in-law with pre-arranged marriage. The film reflects women's oppression and struggles for freedom.

    Born in Taiwan, Wu-Ching Chang is an animation director earned MA. Animation at Royal College of Art. As founder of Aco Creative Ltd., she has worked on animation and illustration since 2014.

    She creates films by exploring personal and female issues. Her films are often based on cultural context with interviews and contain experimental practices.
