Synopsis

After meeting his Rwandan father in Montreal for the first time at 28 years old, Sébastien Desrosiers, a Quebecers journalist, sets off, during the 25th year anniversary of the genocide, on an existential quest to his ancestral land in search of answers.

  • David Findlay

    David Findlay, won the second price in the New Director of the Year category at the Shots Awards in 2020. He is a director born in Quebec City and graduated in Arts at the University of British Columbia. His work focuses on the genuine study of human behaviour and is known for overlapping between fiction and documentary through a highly cinematographic and empathic lens. After his first feature film Everything Outside (2018) with Louise Portal and Kati Outinen, his new short film Found Me is premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), while his new documentary Ndagukunda déjà was premiered at the Reykjavik International Film and at the International Documentary Film festival Amsterdam.

    Sébastien Desrosiers is a journalist and anchor at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Born in Montreal, he directed reports everywhere in Quebec. In Ndagukunda déjà he goes to Rwanda to find his roots and to walk his father’s path. This film is his first documentary.
