    Born in 1978, Pieter Coudyzer is a Flemish Belgian screenwriter and director who graduated in 2003 from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent. His graduation film, Moodswing, was selected in more than 100 festivals and won the Grand Prize at Anima 2004 and the Franciscus Pycke Prize of the Academy of Ghent. Since then, he has made several short films including Marked (2007), The Wake (2011), Tree (2014), My Heart Is Not Here (2015), I Shall Not Move (2016), Beast! (2016 – Best Original Music at the Annecy Int. Animation Festival), Urge (2017), and Our Spot (2017). In 2015, his first graphic novel Woekeraar was published and translated into French (L’Arborescent) and English (Outburst). The Passerby is his most recent short film.
