Racines Croisés follows a photographic project initiated by Mélissa Lefebvre, a Montreal secondary school drama teacher, and Joannie Lafrenière, a photographer and the film’s co-producer. The project took shape thanks to a meeting of newly arrived immigrant students, aged 12 to 16, and seniors from the west end of the city. Two generations, two distinct contexts, two worlds which complement each other with tenderness, humour and fantasy.
