Synopsis

The arrival of a stranger in Natashquan marks the beginning of an unlikely love story between the small fishing community and the young man, a story that will come to an abrupt end five years later with his mysterious disappearance.

    Nicolas Lachapelle is a journalist, filmmaker and sound documentarist. His works, which explore the relationship to territory through the themes of exile, rootedness and memory, have been presented at numerous festivals in Canada and abroad. In 2022, Nicolas won the RVCQ award for Best First Documentary. Recently, it was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the Gala Québec Cinéma and at the Canadian Screen Awards.
