Among the featured activities for opening night at the Tempo is a performance called Ice Contact. For the occasion, sculptor Thomas Meloche and musician Sébastien Maltais are joining forces to make beautiful sounds with flutes carved from ice. Ice percussion and voices will accompany the pieces, composed based on the limits of ice as a material. A refreshing concert featuring the stunning visual effect of transparent instruments and dazzling lights, and a free, meditative, experimental sound.
