Dance Shorts

This session includes different kinds of performances and experiments – choreographic, artistic, auditory and musical. Very gently, Rone and La Horde immerse us in an intelligent mix of arts with Ghosts, setting the stage for Marée noire (Sumber Tides), in which the director studies the motions of birds through breathtaking choreography and visual poetry, submitting bodies to the rigours of winter on the banks of the St. Lawrence. Femininity is caressed by the voice of Frannie Holder and the choreography of Mélanie Demers in La Goddam Voie Lactée. In A menos que bailemos (Unless we dance), a teacher of African dance starts a company called Black boys Chocó, which enrolls hundreds of young people with the aim of steering them away from criminality. Next, Beethoven is juxtaposed with voguing in a refreshing short with Voguing with Beethoven, we play with the inanimate body in Return, and the program concludes on a beautiful note with Then Comes The Body, telling the incredible story of Daniel, who after learning all about ballet on the internet, trains young Nigerians to prove themselves on the international scene.
