A biologist by training, Serge Bordeleau was primarily interested in environment and First Nations issues before entering UQAM in film and screenwriting. His documentary Kitakinan - Notre territoire à tout le monde won several awards in Canada and abroad. A Wapikoni mobile teaching filmmaker, recipient of CALQ and Canada Council grants, he remains very involved in his field. In Abitibi he founded the Festival des gens d’ici as well as the organization 08 Cinéma indépendant.
