We are SUPER excited to officially announce the arrival of Marie-Michèle Plante as our Executive Director. She will lead the 29th edition of the Festival, which will take place from March 19 to 23, 2025.
Marie-Michèle Plante brings over fifteen years of experience in management and event planning, with a strong expertise in the cultural sector. Until recently, she was the Co-Director of the Festival Musique du Bout du Monde in Gaspé, where she played a key role in promoting the region. Both a cultural worker and an artist, Marie-Michèle has also enriched her career by working as an advertising producer in Montreal for several years. She has always been deeply involved in community and regional life and has served on various boards, including the Social Economy Hub for Gaspésie-les-Îles, where she held the position of Vice President. Her career reflects her commitment to promoting culture, supporting the social economy, and fostering regional development.
"From our very first meeting with Marie-Michèle, we knew we shared a common energy and vision. The Board of Directors is therefore thrilled to welcome her to the team. Her experience in event planning and her extensive knowledge of the arts sector make her an invaluable asset to the organization. We have full confidence in Marie-Michèle and look forward to experiencing the next edition of the Festival alongside her." - Sophie Beauparlant, Chair of the Board of Directors
Now officially based in Saguenay for the past few weeks, Marie-Michèle has already started her journey with our team.
“It is a true privilege and immense pride to be entrusted with the reins of an organization so deeply rooted in the region and dedicated with such passion to promoting short films in Quebec and internationally. I embark on this adventure with great excitement, knowing I can count on a talented and committed team. Together, we will put all our energy, creativity, and enthusiasm into delivering a memorable 29th edition that meets the expectations of both the public and creators." - Marie-Michèle Plante, Executive Director
