Saguenay international
short film festival

We are excited to introduce our newest team member, Anouk, who is joining us as the Communications Assistant for the REGARD Festival!

Anouk is a lifelong lover of cinema and art, spending countless hours in movie theaters to immerse herself in the magic of film. After studying cinema at university, she decided to leave her native France to explore new horizons and share her passion with the REGARD’s audience.

To get to know her better, here are a few insights:

Your first impression of Quebec?

I am impressed by the kindness and warmth of Quebecers. People are approachable and very helpful.

Why REGARD?

When I explored REGARD’s website and social media, I was immediately drawn to the diversity of the programming and the events organized by the Festival. REGARD’s commitment to inclusivity in its programming and public engagement perfectly aligns with my approach to working in the arts.

Coffee or tea?

Without hesitation, tea! Especially mint tea—I could drink liters of it!

A film that marked your childhood?

It’s hard to name just one, but here are a few: Astérix and Obélix: Mission Cleopatra (I love the humor and intelligence of Alain Chabat’s productions in general), films with Pierre Richard, those by Hayao Miyazaki , as well as Men in Black , The Lord of the Rings , Kirikou , Moonfleet , The Little Poucet , Amélie... and many more!

What are you most looking forward to in your experience at REGARD?

I’m really excited to see the Festival come to life through the hard work of the entire team and the volunteers. I can’t wait to understand the details needed to prepare for such an important cultural event as the REGARD Festival.

If you had to describe yourself with an expression, which one would you choose?

Without a doubt, 'having my head in the clouds'!
