Synopsis

A day which begins like any other slowly erupts into violence for one family as they experience institutional racism and fear. The film presents an uncompromising vision of what may lie ahead in these intolerant times, in which people from ethnic minorities are often forced to go through traumatic “breakups”.

    Aneil Karia is a writer-director based in London who studied at the National Film and Television School. His debut film, Surge, was produced by Rooks Nest Entertainment for BBC Films and BFI, premiering at the Sundance Film Festival 2020. Aneil’s films reflect his interest in city life and social codes.
