Synopsis

In a sleepy seaside community, a woman obsessed with mystery novels becomes convinced that her chicken can solve crimes. But when it suddenly goes missing, things go a-fowl. Miss Marple meets Doctor Doolittle, Elvira is a strange, dark, and comedic ride—not your average chick flick. Feathers are going to be ruffled.

    Sarah Segal-Lazar is an award-winning playwright and creative. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, her plays have been produced across Canada. Her playwriting has been called "powerful [and] devastating" by the Montreal Gazette and she has been called "one to watch" by CultMTL. Her short film Elvira was completed in 2024, showcasing her versatility in transitioning from stage and screen.
