Synopsis

Their first time working together on an art project, Katia and Carolyne were accompanied by Carolyne’s eight-year-old granddaughter, Aria, to share a story told by their father, Raymond. Aria’s bold pencil strokes bring to life the characters of a louse and a flea, who go on an adventure in the fur of a young beaver called "Pouillaouin".

  • Katia Kurtness

    Katia Kurtness is a professional artist in multidisciplinary arts. Her inspirations are Innu culture and the words of the elders of her community in Mashteuiatsh. Abstract art is her preferred field to pay tribute to the work of women, as she uses embroidery patterns to integrate her artistic vision.

  • Carolyne Kurtness

    This is a first short film with Wapikoni for Carolyne, who has a degree in secondary education. Creative and spontaneous, she is often called upon to help with art installations and stage sets for various events. Art is a means of escape for her. She is adept at various craft techniques handed down from her parents.
