Reed is a Los Angeles based writer and director. He got his start as a kid actor in New York doing Broadway and off-Broadway theatre. After high school, he gave up acting and got a bachelor of art from Cornell University. He has his masters in film directing from UCLA. His first short film The Conservatory won the 1st Place Student Emmy Award for Best Comedy.
