Mati DiopMati Diop, 22 June 1982, works and lives in Paris as a director and an actress. She played the female lead in Claire Denis' 35 SHOTS OF RHUM. Studying in the advanced degree program at Le Fresnoy (National Studio of contempory Arts) and le Pavillon (Art residency of Palais de Tokyo), she has directed four short films. Her last short film before A Thousand Suns was BIG IN VIETNAM (2012) selected in the Tiger Awards Competition for Short Films at Rotterdam Film Festival.
