Synopsis

Theodore Ushev focuses on the relationship between art and war in this animated film that takes us from Dresden to Guernica as it recycles elements of surrealism and cubism.

    Born in Bulgaria, Theodore Ushev graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. He was initially discovered though his work as a poster artist in his country of origin before settling in Montréal in 1999. He quickly acquired the reputation as a prolific and gifted animated filmmaker. In parallel, he produces films with artists as the subjects - filmmakers and their relation to the world: Les journaux de Lipsett (2010), the most widely known, is an award winner 16 times over.
