Entretierra
Emanuel Licha
Canada (Quebec), Documentary
Entretierra is a sound space between life and death, between presence and absence, neither quite one nor the other. It's a space apart, where those who have disappeared can still tell their stories, and hear the living who seek them out.
In Mexico, since the launch of the "war against drug trafficking" in 2006, the number of missing persons is estimated at over 112,000. Their families are organizing themselves to try to find them, dead or alive. Over time, these families have developed expertise in gathering information, reading soils and landscapes, archaeological excavation techniques, identifying bones, as well as in leading a militant struggle.
