Partway between retrospective and master class, this hybrid session brings together two exceptional artists with fascinating approaches. Both have won top awards at previous editions of REGARD: Vincent won the Jury Prize at the 27th edition for his powerful film Invincible, and Phillip took the Canadian Grand Prize at last year’s 28th edition for the daring Earthworm.

There is an undeniable link between the two filmmakers’ worlds: a fascination with the body, the exploration of spacetime, a somewhat muted world, a dialogue between reality and imagination. At once experimental, immersive and narrative, the works to be revisited during this session call and respond to each other, dance together. The screenings will be accompanied by deep discussions about the artists’ inspirations, fascinations and worldviews, and on art and cinema. We hope this privileged moment will rouse your own creative and contemplative instincts.
