The Marché du court, our short film market, is where the festival puts the profession of filmmaking front and centre. The goal of the Marché is to invite artists to share their experiences and expertise, and to invite seasoned pros to discuss and think about current issues in the industry through round tables and presentations. It’s a three-day event that complements the films in REGARD’s public program because it’s focused on the people involved, whether closely or more distantly, in making the films we show.

Of course, the market also includes professional networking activities, but most of its programming is open to everyone, and its public activities are free. Whether you’re a neophyte, just curious, a diehard cinephile, a future filmmaker or an established pro, you’re more than welcome to check out all the green blocks in our calendar!

Because the film world is so rich, this is a great opportunity to learn more about filmmaking practices, relatively unknown professions and the creative minds who show us the world through their own unique lens.
