The Official Competition is a full of cinematic surprises, both aesthetically and narratively. Made up of ten programs, there are more than 60 premieres, novelties and must-see films exploring love, friendship, family, moral and social issues.

You’ll meet endearing characters, both striking and surprising, touching on kindness, darkness, madness and comedy. Passions will be raised; questions will be asked. All this in order to give you, our loyal public, a rich and memorable experience.

In addition to the two Critics' Prize awards, given by the AQCC and FIPRESCI juries, five further prizes are up for grabs, presented by the official competition jury – totaling more than $55,000 in money and services.

And you’ll also have your say! Vote for your favourite film at each screening and it’ll have the chance to win the coveted Audience Award or be part of the audience favourites selection presented at the end of the Festival.
