Saguenay international
short film festival

Since last week, the team has welcomed three new members. Introducing Sandrine, Alice and Maïlis! Feel free to pretend you know all about them when you meet them at REGARD24.

Sandrine is versatile, inquisitive and multi-talented, which isn’t surprising given her unconventional educational and professional career. Her taste foradventure and discovery has led her to explore almost all of Quebec in search of new challenges. This summer, she had the privilege of working on film sets as a production assistant for Canopée Médias, an enriching experience that gave her the opportunity to learn more about the film world, which she finds especially intriguing. Her love of the Saguenay and its lively cultural life inspired her to settle in the region. Sandrine’s appreciationfor diversity is probably what led her to apply for a production assistant position at REGARD, giving her the opportunity to join a great team.

Alice has a bachelor’s degree in art history and is working toward a DESS in publishing. She has learned about the film world by working as a publicist for the film distributor Maison4:3 and by serving on the cinephiles’jury at the Quebec City Film Festival. She’s as delighted as can be to join our busy team, as volunteer coordinator for the 24th annual REGARD Festival.

After earning a diploma in imaging techniques, Maïlis went on to study for a master’s degree in cinematic writing and analysis, with a focus on programming. She discovered her love of film and its events in her hometown in Belgium, Namur. From the FIFF to Brussels Short, she finally decided to fill the months between festivals by working as a film production assistant. She is also considering using her natural talent in front of the camera and not only behind it, as her photo suggests. Although Belgium
remains dear to her, she never had a moment’s hesitation about crossing the Atlantic to join the REGARD team as assistant guest services coordinator.
