Synopsis

When you’ve fled homophobic violence in your home country and endured a painful migratory journey, or you still face social prejudices stemming from intercultural and intergenerational conflicts, for many Arabic-speaking LGBTQ+ people living in Montreal, surviving social isolation is nothing new.

    Eli Jean Tahchi is a graduate of the Netflix-funded mixed program at the Institut National de l'Image et du Son (INIS) in Montreal. He is a filmmaker and actor. He studied cinema at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts and obtained a bachelor's degree in Film & TV Production. In 2011, he moved to Montreal and pursued studies in cinema at the University of Montreal, and finally, at INIS.Eli Jean Tahchi's committed cinema is sharp, human and metaphorically charged. Since 2011, he has accumulated projects of varied and culturally diverse genres.
