Saguenay international
short film festival

The festival-goers attending the South Korea Panorama, presented by Le Quotidien and Antitube, will be carried to this East Asia country, to enjoy a typically Korean experience.

Every year, the Festival REGARD offers to its loyal audience a panorama from another country. Last year, the audience has discovered the world of India. This year, the Festival’s programming team has decided to offer people an overview of the best of South Korea. ‘’The thematic of this screening’s short films is raw and bloody. The cinephiles will be struck by what they will see“, explains REGARD’s Head of Programming Mélissa Bouchard.

Animated, documentary, and fiction films will be part of this activity. Many of the films that will be screened have already made their way internationally: Safe, by Moon Byoung-Gon, has won the Palme d’or in Cannes in 2013, and Bargain, by Lee Chung-Hyun is the only film of this selection that is part of the Festival’s international competition.

From Korea to Saguenay

Besides watching six short films, the audience will have the opportunity to discuss with the programmer of the Busan International Short Film Festival, Shang Hoon Lee, immediately after the screening. He will be at the Festival to be part of the jury Shoot No Matter What! and to participate actively to the Market activities. He will in turn present a panorama about Quebec and Canada at the BISFF in April 2017.
